Safari

Okay, maybe we should all be like Andrew and go native. Cairns has not disappointed. We are staying in a small town north of Cairns called Yorkey’s Knob, right on the beach. It is much quieter than the city, which is a nice contrast. We have been on a Bush Safari where most of the animals we saw were in the wild in the Daintree Rainforest and the Daintree River in the Mangrove trees.

Highlights:

Swimming in Emmagen creek

Cape Tribulation (a beach that looked straight from a calendar with coconuts and all)

Steak lunch

Seeing a 5 meter crocodile in the wild with a guide who has an Australian accent and a sense of humor.

Our guide Andrew showing us one of many jumping spiders.

Emmagen Creek

Tropical Fruit Snack Break

Cape Tribulation

Croc in Daintree River
