Fruit Bats

We are enjoying our apartment. Maybe too much so. The kids are always asking when we are going back to it. Every night at dusk, thousands of bats that live in trees in the Botanical gardens take flight for the night. We can see them come up from our apartment and they come straight for our building and go right past our windows. We have been enjoying this scene every night. A box of Tim Tams (a delicious Australian cookie) and a seat by the window, and we have our evenings entertainment. Followed by bedtime, which so far has been 8:30 for all of us. We get up anywhere between 4 and 5:30 am. We are still adjusting, but it hasn’t been as bad as we were anticipating. We have been enjoying the quiet Sydney mornings.
